Treasurer’s Report-Dennis
Overall Budget is in surplus.
Difficulty with management for upcoming retreat. Yair suggested that in the future the retreat have a separate accounting.
Action: Dennis will look for commercial software for consistency with use by any treasurer in the future.
Teachers Council Report-Ken M.
April 19 Teachers will be on retreat.
Jon Aaron retreat full.
Currently 5 teachers and not considering training others for teaching at this time.
Considering expanding connections with teachers outside of Still Mountain.
Action: Council plans to have guidelines for scholarships by June 1st.
Tech Report-Phyllis
Minutes are sent to Kenneth G.
No more complaints of quality of sound since report from Gayle.
Sangha Committee Report-Erica
Arlene is no longer co-chair due to her illness. There are three members-Erica, Arlene and Dorothyann. They meet once a month on Zoom.
Because of such few members, set up for the Social gathering after the Community Meeting is difficult. Many members help with clean up.
Erica handed out the “Welcome to Still Mountain Meditation Center” flyer. A suggestion at Community Meeting was to place flyers at local colleges.
A QRCode will be added and it will go on the website.
Trying to determine ways to encourage the community members to be more involved.
A group for playing cards had their first get together and plan to continue.
Action: Check with Mariko to see if social gathering set up after the Community Meeting can be added to the Set-up Committee.
If someone in charge is not there, let Yair know.
Once the new location has been determined send out information about SM to contacts currently available, approximately 70 to 130 possibilities.
Board will discuss possible outreach and growth in local community.
General Discussion regarding need for new location since Turner will no longer be available July 1st.
Need to consider: Cost (currently $35/session)
Location – Ann Arbor area
Hybrid – Internet connection
Kitchenette service and storage area desirable
Ideas: Mt. Zion facilities, Genesis, Lotus Center, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Senior Centers, High Schools, Libraries
Action: Yair will contact the Jewish Community Center, the Botanical Gardens, Ann Arbor Libraries and the Lotus Center.
Ken will talk to Susan Weir as they recently searched for and obtained a new location.
Judi will find out about Ypsilanti Libraries.
Phyllis will have a Spread Sheet available for information as it is obtained.
Announcement to go out requesting member participation in the search.
There will be a Zoom meeting every other week starting Monday April 21st at 7:30pm to discuss results and continued actions of search for new location.
