THE FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS
For each of the Four Noble Truths, there are three aspects. The three aspects for each Noble Truth follow a pattern of Recognition (understanding it), Encouragement (what is to be done), and Realization (what has been done).
The Noble Truth of Suffering
There is suffering, dukkha.
Dukkha should be understood.
Dukkha has been understood.
The Noble Truth of the Origin of Suffering
There is the origin of suffering which is craving.
Craving should be abandoned.
Craving has been abandoned.
The Noble Truth of the Cessation of Suffering
There is the cessation of suffering, dukkha.
The cessation of dukkha should be realized.
The cessation of dukkha has been realized.
The Noble Truth of the Way Leading to the Cessation of Suffering
There is the Eightfold Path.
This path should be developed.
The path has been fully developed.
