Return to Wholeness:  Embodying Wisdom and Love, A six-session course integrating Insight Mindfulness & Yoga teachings and practices

We are offering a 6-session classes of meditation and yoga, meeting at the Fitness Room in Turner Senior Resource Center between April 23 and June 4, 2025. The course is freely offered. Registration is required.

Description

Meditation and yoga practices are designed to taking us from deep silence into dynamic action and back again to profound stillness. Our intention for the course is that during our sessions we will experience this full range of body/mind stillness-to activity-and back to stillness.

We hope that this program will enable you to see and feel your environment, body, mind and emotions from a deep fresh perspective – one that can find Joy in the perfection of imperfection of life, one that become healing and transformative.

Where: The fitness room in Turner Senior Center
When: On Wednesdays – April 23, 30 May 7,14, 21 June 4 (We skip 5/28)
Time: 5:30-7:30 PM
Teachers: Julie Woodward, mindful yoga teacher, experienced psychotherapist and wellness coach.
Bilha Birman-Rivlin, PhD., Still Mountain Meditation Teacher.
Cost: Class is offered freely. Donation are appreciated.
Prerequisite: Experience with Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga practices.
This course is limited to 15 participants.

Julie Woodward, MA, MSW, RYT-200 is a mindful yoga teacher, experienced psychotherapist and wellness coach. In yoga classes and coaching sessions, Julie integrates the ancient wisdom traditions of yoga and meditation with current research in neuroscience to offers students and clients an approach to greater wholeness through embodied practices. Current class offerings include “Yoga for Resilience”, a transformative journey through the experience of practices that activate the vagus nerve, build self-awareness and self-regulation, and cultivate a greater sense of compassion for oneself, others and all of life.

Bilha Birman-Rivlin, PhD is a long-time practitioner and teacher of insight mindful meditation. For over fifteen years she has been leading Insight Mindfulness classes and retreats. who has recently earned her PhD from the Theatre department at Wayne State University where she wrote her dissertation on the creative process and the path of transformation. Bilha feels that the path of insight meditation and the Buddhist teachings has transformed her way of being in the world, and she takes great joy passing it on to others.
